The area of a square ABCD is 64 square centimetre find the area of a square obtained by joining the midpoints of the side of the square ABCD

ABCD is a square. whose area is 64cmsqr

now side sqr = 64

side =8

now in question it's given that we need to join the midpoints of square

therefore the triangle formed will have base and height = 4 cm each

now applying Pythagoras

side of new sqr = √32

area of new square = side sqr = 32 cm sqr
