area of square = 40× 40= 1600 cm sq..

area sq. = area of rect.

breadth= 25 cm

length= area/breadth

= 1600 / 25

= 64 cm

GIVEN:

Area of square and rectangle are equal,

Side of the Square = 40 cm

Breadth of the rectangle = 25 cm

ANSWER:

Length = 64 cm, Perimeter = 178 cm

SOLUTION:

Area of the square = Side × Side

= 40 × 40

= 1600

∴ Area of square is 1600 cm²

Taking length of the rectangle as "x"

Area of the rectangle = Length × Breadth

= 25x

∴ Area of rectangle = (25x) cm²

Given, area of rectangle and square are equal,

==> 25x = 1600

==> x = 1600/25

==> x = 64

Length of the rectangle is 64 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

= 2(64 + 25)

= 2 × 89

= 178

Required perimeter is 178 cm
