Answer:

Area of rectangle = area of square = 60*60 = 3600cm^2

Area of rectangle = 3600cm^2

l*40 = 3600

l = 90

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(90+40) = 2*130 = 260cm

Answer:

Length = 90 cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 260 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • \sf{Area_{square}\:=\:Area_{rectangle}}
  • Side of square = 60 cm
  • Breadth of rectangle (b) = 40 cm

To find:

  • Length of rectangle (l) = ?
  • Perimeter of rectangle = ?

Solution:

We are given that, area of square = area of rectangle

that means, (side)² = l × b.

⇒ (60)² = I × 40

⇒ 3600 = I × 40

⇒ 3600/40 = l

⇒ 90 cm = l

Hence, length of rectangle = 90 cm.

________________________________

Now, we know that perimeter of rectangle = 2 × (l + b)

⇒ perimeter = 2 × (90 + 40)

⇒ perimeter = 2 x 130

⇒ perimeter = 260 cm

Therefore, perimeter of rectangle = 260 cm.
