The perimeter of the square field is 40 units.

Given: The area of a square field is 100 ares.

To Find: The perimeter of the square field.

Solution:

  • We know that the area of a square can be calculate by the formula;

              Area = a × a                                                                     ...(1)

Where a = length of each side of a square.

  • We know that the perimeter of a square can be calculate by the formula;

              Perimeter = 4 × a                                                             ...(2)

Where a = length of each side of a square.

Coming to the numerical, we are given;

The  area of a square field is = 100 sq units

Let the length of each side of the square field be 'a'.

Putting respective values in (1), we get;

               Area = a × a

           ⇒ 100 = a²

           ⇒  a² = 100

           ⇒  a = √100

                   = 10 units

Now, we put the respective values in (2), to get the perimeter of the square field.

                 Perimeter = 4 × a

            ⇒  Perimeter = 4 × 10

            ⇒  Perimeter = 40 units

Hence, the perimeter of the square field is 40 units.
