Answer:

Given:-

The area of a square field is 200m². Find the length of its side, correct to 1 decimal place.

To Find:-

Length of a square field.

Note:-

Area of a square field = ( S )² ( S is side ).

Sometimes we need to rearrange a term from its side to do calculations; Here square ( ² ) is important when it is rearrange it becomes under root ( ).

When "m²" comes in under root, it becomes "m".

Solution:-

Area of a square field = 200m² , it length = ?

According to note first point~

▪︎ Area \ \ of \ \ square \ \ field = ( S )²

▪︎ 200m² = ( S )²

According to note second point ( rearrangement )~

▪︎ √200m² = S

After doing calculations in 1 decimal place and accordingly to note third point ( m² = m )~

▪︎ 14.1 m = S

Checking:-

Let's check for side that L.H.S = R.H.S or not ?

Here, we have find the answer in approximate value so the multiplication will also be in approximate value~

 Area \ \ of \ \ square \ \ field = S² \ \ ?

 200m² = (14.1m)² \ \ ?

 200m² = 198.81m² \ \ ?

Yes! If we approximate the R.H.S then it is equal to L.H.S as it is for 1 decimal if it is for 3 decimal places then it would be exact equal to L.H.S

Hence, proved that Side = 14.1m

Answer:-

Hence, the area of square field's side is = 14.1m ( by approximation )
