The area of a square is 1 sq. m more than ½ of Area of a rectangle. If the area of the
square is 55 sq. m, then find the dimensions of the rectangle given breadth is ¾ times
length.

given, B = 3/4 L

Square area = 1/2(rectangle area) +1

55 = 1/2( L*B) +1

L*B = 54*2 = 108

L * 3/4 L = 108

L² = 108*4/3 = 432/3 = 144

L = √144

Length = 12 m

and B = 3/4 L = 3*12/4 = 9m
