Given,

  • Area of rectangle = Area of square
  • Measurements of rectangle : Length = 8cm and Breadth = 2cm

We know that,

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

substituting length for 8cm and breadth for 2cm,

Area of rectangle = 8 × 2

Area = 16cm²

Area of square = 16cm² (given in the question)

Area of square = side × side = (SIDE)²

let us take the value of the side as x

16 =

16 = x

4cm = x

Therefore, the side of the square is 4cm.

Hope it helps!!

have a great day!!
