Area of equilateral triangle :-

 \boxed{ \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4}  \times a}

[ Here a is the equal side of the triangle]

a = 2cm

 \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4}  \times 4 \\   = \sqrt{3}

[ Estimated value of √3 is 1.732 ]

So area ≈ 1.73

Given that Area of Square and Area of Triangle are equal.

Area of square :-

[ Here a is the equal side of the square]

According to the question:-

Area of Square = Area of Equilateral Triangle

a² = 1.73

a = √1.73

 \huge \boxed{a = 1.315}

I hope it helped you .
