Answer :

Length = 64cm

Perimeter = 178cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

  • Side of the square = 40cm
  • Breadth of the rectangle = 25cm

To find,

  • the length and perimeter of the rectangle

Finding Area :

We shall find the area of both rectangle and square as they are equal.

Area of a square = L²

⇒Area of the square = (40cm)²

⇒Area of the square = 1600cm²

.°. The area of both polygons is 1600cm².

Finding length of the rectangle :

Area of rectangle = L × B

⇒1600 = L × 25

⇒1600/25 = L

⇒64 = L

.°. The length of the rectangle is 64cm.

Finding perimeter of the rectangle :

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(L+B)

⇒Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(64+25)cm

⇒Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 × 89cm

⇒Perimeter of the rectangle = 178cm

.°. Perimeter of the rectangle is 178cm.

Hence, the length and perimeter of the rectangle are 64cm and 178cm respectively.

Given :-

The area of a square is the same as of a rectangle. If the side of the square is 40 cm and the breadth of the rectangle is 25 cm.

To Find :-

Length and perimeter

Solution :-

Area of square = side \times side

\sf Area = 40 \times 40

Area = 1600 cm^2

Now

Length = Area/Breadth

L = 1600/25

L = 64 CM

Now

P = 2(l + b)

P = 2(64 + 25)

P = 2(89)

P = 178 CM
