The length of wire is 256 m.

Explanation:

Given : Area of square plot = 256 sq m.

Since Area of square = (side)²

⇒ Side of square = √Area

⇒ Side  \: of   \:  square  \: plot = \sqrt{256}

=16 m

The perimeter of square plot = 4(side) = 4(16) = 64 m

If the wire go 4 times round the boundaries of this plot. , then the total length of wire = 4(perimeter of square plot )

= 4(64 cm) = 256 m

Hence, the length of wire is 256 m.

Given :

The area of a square plot is 1600 m².

To find :

Length of wire, which can go 4 times around the boundary of this plot.

Solution :

∵ Area of square = Side²

⇒ 1600 = Side²

⇒ Side = √1600

Side = 40 m.

Length of wire which can go 1 time around the plot is equal to perimeter of the plot.

∴ Length of wire which can go 4 times around the field = 4 × Perimeter

∵ Perimeter of square = 4 × Side

⇒ Length of wire = 4 × (Side × 4)

⇒ Length of wire = 4 × (40 × 4)

⇒ Length of wire = 4 × 160

Length of wire = 640 m

Length of wire needed = 640 m           [Option C]
