USING PYTHAGORAS THEOREM,

$diagonal \: = \: \sqrt{ {1}^{2} + {1}^{2} } = \sqrt{2} \: \: m$

AREA OF SQUARE MADE USING DIAGONAL =

$\sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{2} = 2 {m}^{2}$
