Sol:
Area of a trapezium = h 2 (a + b)
Where a and b are parallel sides, h is the distance between the parallel sides.
Area of the trapezium = 105 cm2
One of the parallel sides = 28 cm
Distance between the parallel sides = 5 cm
⇒ Area of the trapezium = 5 2 (28 + b) = 105
⇒ 28 + b = 42
⇒ b = 14
Therefore, length of the other parallel side of the trapezium is 14 cm.

Answer :

The other side of the trapezium is 14 cm.

Step-by-step explanation :

Let the other parallel side of the trapezium be x.

So, here we know that,

Area of trapezium = 1 / 2 * ( sum of || sides ) * distance between them.

But, here area of trapezium = 105 cm² given.

∴ 1 / 2 * ( a + b ) * 5 = 105

⇒ 1 / 2 * ( 28 + x ) * 5 = 105

⇒ 5 ( x + 28 ) = 105 * 2

⇒ 5x + 140 = 210

⇒ 5x = 210 - 140

⇒ 5x = 70

⇒ x = 70 / 5

⇒ x = 14 cm

Hence, the other side of the trapezium is 14 cm.
