ar of trap. =138m^2
height=12
difference between sides =7
now,
ar of trap. = 1/2×(a+b)×h
1/2×(a+b)×12 = 138
(a+b)=138/6
(a+b)=23
difference=7, =a-b =7
now adding the sum and difference
(a+b)+(a-b)=23+7
2a=30
a=15
so, b=8

:(a-b)=15-8=7.

let length of longer side be X
then second side parallel to X = X - 7
then area = 1/2 * ( X + X - 7 ) * 12 = 138
( 2x - 7)6 = 138
2x - 7 = 23
2x = 30
x = 15 m
hence, the length of the longer and smaller sides that are parallel = 15 m and 8 m
