The area of a trapezium is 15.4m^2. If one of parallel sides and the distance between them is 1.4m, find the length of both the parallel sides.​

the area of trapezium is 15.4 metre square

if one of parallel side is 5 less than twice the other parallel sides = 2x - 5

distance between them is 1.4 m

The area of trapezium

 =  \frac{1}{2} .(a + b).h

  \frac{1}{2}  \times (x + 2x - 5) \times 1.4 \:  = 15.4

3x - 5 = 22

x =  \frac{27}{3}  = 9

The one part is 9 m and other part is (18-5) = 13 m.
