The area of a trapezium is 180 cm² and its height is 9 cm. If one of the parallel sides is longer than the other by 6 cm, find the two parallel sides.

Area = 180cm2

Height = 9m

LEt one of the sides be x

Then the other side will be x+ 6

We know, Area of atrapeziun,

= 1/2 * sum of parallel sides * heighgt

180= 1/2 * (x + x+ 6) * 9

180 = 1/2 * (2x + 6) * 9

360 = (2x + 6) *9

360 = 18x + 54

360 - 54 = 18x

306 = 18x

x = 17cm

Other side = 17 + 6 =23 cm
