The area of a trapezium is 180cm^2and it's height is 12cm .if one of the parallel sides is double the other, find the length of the parallel sides.

Area trapezium =
 \frac{1}{2}  \times h \times (sum \: of \: parallel \: side)
= 180cm^2

Let one parallel side be x, then other side will be 2x

= 1/2 x 12 × ( x +2x ) = 180

= 6(3x) = 180

= 18x = 180

= x = 10 cm

therefore, parallel sides are 10 cm and 20 cm
