the area of a trapezium is 200 cm² and its height is 8 cm. If one of the parallel sides is longer than the other by 6 cm, find the parallel sides.

area of trapezium = 1/2*height*sum of parallel sides

200 =1/2*8*x+x+6

200*2/8=2x+6

100/8

25/2=2x+6

37/2=2x

x=37/4

x=9.25

x+6=15.25
