Hi there !!

Area of trapezium = 210cm²
Height = 14cm

Let one of the parellal be x

Other parellal side = 2x

By applying the formula for the area of trapezium, the following equation will be formed.

We know,

Area of trapezium

 =  \frac{1}{2} h(a + b)

210 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 14(x + 2x)

210  \times 2 = 14(3x)

420 = 42x

x =  \frac{420}{42}
x = 10

Thus,

1st parellal side = x = 10cm

2nd parellal side = 2x = 2 × 10 = 20cm

Hence ,
the sides of the trapezium are 10cm and 20cm

Solution:

Given:The area of a Trapezium is 210 cm² and its height is 14 cm if one of the parallel sides is double that of the other.

let the length of a parallel side be x, then, the other is 2x.

Area of trapezium =  \frac{1}{2} h(a+b) sq.units
                         210 =  \frac{1}{2} (14)(x+2x)
                         210 =7(3x)
                      210/7 =3x
                           30 =3x
                           ∴x=10cm,.
                           ∴2x=2(10)=20cm
∴ The length of the parallel sides are 10cm and 20 cm respectively.

                           Hope it Helps
