The area of a trapezium is 264 Cm square and its parallel sides are in the ratio of 5:7. If its altitude is 11 Cm,find the length of the parallel sides

Area of trapezium=.(I + b) h/2

l = 5x, b = 7x, h=11, area=264

264=(5x +7x) xll/2

264=12Xx11/2

X =264x2/12x11=4

I=5x=5x4=20cm

b = 7x=7x4=28cm

lenghthof Parallel sides =20,28cms
