the area of a Trapezium is 31 50 metre square. one of its parallel sides is 80m and distance between them is 45m

area of trapezium = 3150

height = 45 cm

one parallel side  = 80

let the other parallel side be x

we know that,

area of trapezium = 1/2  *  [ sum of parallel sides ]  *  height

area = 1/2 * [ 80+x ] * 45

we will cancel 45 with 2 by 22.5 times

area = [ 80 + x ] * 22.5

area = 1800 + 22.5x

A2Q, 1800 + 22.5x = 3150

22.5x = 3150-1800

22.5x = 1350

x = 1350/22.5

x = 60

so, length of other side = 60 cm
