Answer:

7cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let a be the unknown parallel side ,

Area of Trapezium = 1/2 * h * (a+b)

34 = 1/2 * 4 * (a + 10)

34 = 2 * (a+10)

a+10 = 34/2

a+10 = 17

a = 17 - 10

a = 7cm

Question :-

The area of a Trapezium is 34 cm^2 and the length of one of the parallel sides 10 cm and its height is 4 cm find the length of the Other parallel side

Given :-

  • Area of trapezium = 34{cm}^{2}

  • Length of one ll side = 10cm

  • Height = 4 cm

To find :-

  • length of the Other parallel side ?

Solution :-

Area of trapezium = 34 {cm}^{2}

Length = 10 cm

height h = 4 cm

Area of the trapezium

=  \dfrac{1}{2} × (a + b) × h

⇒34 =  \dfrac{1}{2} × (10 + b) × 4

⇒ 34 = (10 + b) × 2

⇒ 17 = 10 + b

⇒ b = 17 – 10

= 7 cm

Hence, the required length = 7 cm
