The area of a trapezium is 34 cm2 and its height is 4cm. One of the parallel sides of the trapezium is 10 cm, find the other parallel side.​

Answer;

Let the required other side=xcm

Area of the trapezium= 1/2×[sumofparallelsides]×[Height]34=

1/2×[10+x]×4or, 42×34

=10+x

or, 10+x=17

=x=17−10=7cm

Hence, the required other side=7cm.
