Length of the other parallel side is 7 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

We Have :-

Trapezium -

Area = 34 cm²

Length of one parallel side = 10 cm

Height = 4 cm

To Find :-

Length of other parallel side

Formula Used :-

area \: of \: trapezium \:  =  \:  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times ( \: sum \: of \: parallel \: sides \: ) \times height

Solution :-

area \: of \: trapezium \:  =  \:  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times ( \: sum \: of \: parallel \: sides \: ) \times height \\  \\ area \:  =  \:  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times ( \: 10 + x \: ) \times 4 \\  \\ 34 \:  =  \:  \dfrac{1}{2} \times ( \: 10 + x \: )  \times 4 \\  \\  \dfrac{34 \times 2}{4}  = 10 + x \\  \\ 17 = 10 + x \\  \\ x = 7 \: cm

Length of the other parallel side is 7 cm

  \bold {Given:}

Area of trapezium \large \Rightarrow 34cm²

length of one side \large \Rightarrow 10 cm.

height \large \Rightarrow 4 cm.

  \bold {To\:Find}

length of other side of trapezium.

 \Large \bold \red{Solution}\Rightarrow

Let the second side be x

Area \: of \: trapezium =  \frac{1}{2} \times (sum  \: of  \: parallel  \: sides)\times height \\ \\Area =  \frac{1}{2} ×(10+x)×4 \\ \\34 =  \frac{1}{2} \times(10+x)\times 4 \\ \\  \frac{34\times 2}{4} = 10+x \\ \\ \frac{68}{4} = 10+x \\ \\ \sf \dfrac{\cancel{68}{ \: 17}}{\cancel{4}} = 10+x \\ \\ 17 = 10 + x \\ \\ x= 17-10 \\ \\ x = 7 cm

The length of the other side is 7 cm.
