area of trapezium =1/2 (a+b)h
a =35cm
b= 50cm
h=
340=1/2 (35+50)h
340=1/2×85×h
340×2/85=h
8 cm =h

8cm is the distance between parallel sides

Area of trapezium is 1/2(a+b)h where a and b are parallel sides and h is height
So,

340 = 1/2(35+50)h
340*2 = 85h
680 = 85h
h = 650/85
h = 7.65 cm

Therefore the distance between two parallel sides is 7.65 cm
