The area of a trapezium is 34cm2

and the length of one of the parallel side is

area =  \frac{1}{2} (a + b) \times h \\ 34 =  \frac{1}{2} (10 + b) \times 4 \\  \frac{34 \times 2}{4}  = 10 + b \\ 17 = 10 + b \\ b = 17 - 10 \\ b = 7
