Given :

  • Area of trapezium = 34 cm²
  • Length of one parallel side = 10 cm
  • Height of the trapezium = 4cm

To find :

  • The Length of the other parallel side.

Solution :

Let the Length of other parallel side be x

We know that ,

{\underline{\boxed{\sf{Area_{(trapezium)}={\dfrac{1}{2}}\times{h}\times{(sum \ of \ parallel \ sides)}}}}}

According to Question,

\longmapsto\sf{34=}\dfrac{1}{\cancel{2}^1}\times{\cancel{4}^2}\times{(10+x)}

\longmapsto\sf{34=2}\times{(10+x)}

\longmapsto\sf{34=20+2x}

\longmapsto\sf{34-20=2x}

\longmapsto\sf{14=2x}

\longmapsto\sf\cancel\dfrac{14}{2}^{7}={x}

\longmapsto\sf{x=7cm}

Therefore,

\underline{\sf{The \ other \ parallel \ side \ = 7cm}}

More formulas :

  • \sf{Area_(rectangle)=Length\times{Breadth}}
  • \sf{Area_(square)=side^2}
  • \sf{Area_(parallelogram)=base\times{height}}
  • \sf{Area_(rhombus)=}\dfrac{D_1\times{D_2}}{2}

★Question:-

the area of a trapezium is 34cm² and the length of one of the parallel sides is 10cm and it's height is 4cm. find the length of the other parallel side.

★Answer:-

★Given:-

Area of trapezium = 34cm ^{2}

Length of 1st parallel Side = 10cm.

height = 4cm

★Find:-

Length of 2nd parallel side.

★Solution:-

area \: of  \: trapezium \leadsto \:   {34cm}^{2}   \\ \\ \leadsto   \frac{1}{2}  \times (sum \: of \: all \: sides) \times h =  34  \\ \\  \leadsto \:  20+2x = 34 \\ \\  \leadsto 2x  = 34-20 \\  \\ \leadsto 2x  = 14 \\ \\  \leadsto x = \frac{14}{2}  \\   \\ \leadsto x=7

★Final Answer:-

So, the 2nd Length of the trapezium is 7cm.
