Answer:

let the length of the other parallel side is x cm

then area of the trapezium

(31+x).13/2

so,

(31+x).13/2=416

=> 31+x=416×2/13=32×2=64

=> x=64-31

=> x=33

length of the other parallel side is 33 cm

Answer:

The area of a trapezium is 416 sq. cm and one of its parallel sides is 31 cm. If its altitude is 13 cm, then the length of its other parallel side is 33 cm .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The area of a trapezium =416 sq. cm

one of its parallel sides = 31 cm.

Altitude = 13 cm

The area of a trapezium can be calculated using the formula:

Area = ½ × (sum of parallel sides) × height.

A = ½ × (a + b) × h

½ × (31 + b) × 13 = 416

(31 + b) × 13 = 832

31 + b = 832/13

31 + b = 64

b = 64 - 31

b = 33 cm

So, other parallel side is 33 cm.
