The area of a trapezium is 432m^2 the perpendicular distance between the two parallel sides is 18m if 5he difference of the parallel sides is 18m find the lengths of the parallel sides

solution :-
area of trap.=1/2*height*(sum of both parallel sides)
let the smaller side be x, and according to the question the larger side will be 18m more than smaller ,thus:-
small parallel side=x
large parallel side =18+x

put values in formula
432=1/2*18(18+x+x)
432*2=18(18+2x)
864=324+36x
864-324=36x
540=36x
540/36=x
15=x

thus answer is :-
small side=15 m
large side=(15+18)m=33m
