Area of trapezium =475cm²

ratio of parallel sides=2:3

height=10cm

Area of a trapezium =1/2×sum of parallel sides ×distance between the parallel sides

let the parallel sides be '2x' and '3x'.

Area=>1/2×(2x+3x)×10=475cm²

=>1/2×5x×10=475cm²

=>5×5x=475cm²

=>5x=475÷5=95

=>x=95÷5

=>x=19

so,2x=2×19=38cm and 3x=3×19=57cm.

so,length of the longer side is 57cm.

Answer :-

Longer Side = 57 cm.

Explanation :-

Given :

  • The area of a trapezium is 475 sq. cm.
  • Parallel sides are in the ratio 2:3.
  • Height is 10 cm.

To Find :

  • Length of longer side.

Solution :

We know that,

Area of Trapezium = 1/2 × (p1 + p2) × h.

Let the parallel sides be 2x and 3x.

According to the Question,

➞ 1/2 × (2x + 3x) × 10 = 475 sq. cm.

➞ 1/2 × (5x) × 10 = 475 sq. cm.

➞ 25x = 475 sq. cm.

➞ x = 475 ÷ 25.

➞ x = 19.

Therefore,

  • p1 = 2x = 38 cm.
  • p2 = 3x = 57 cm.

We have to find Longer Side.

Hence, Longer Side = 57 cm.
