let the two parallel lines be 7x and 5x.
540 = 1/2 × 18 (7x+5x)
540 = 9(12x)
12x = 540/9
12x = 60
x = 60/12
x = 5
so, 7x = 7×5 = 35
5x = 5×5 = 25

Answer:

Let the first parallel sides be 7x

Let the second parallel sides be 5x

540 = 1/2*18 (7x + 5x)

540= 9 (12x)

-12x = -540/9

(By cancelling the negative power)

12x = 60

x =60/12

x = 5

As given earlier ,

But putting the value to x we get the result i. e.

7x = 7 × 5 = 35

5x = 5 × 5 =25
