The area of a trapezium is 540 sq.cm. If the ratio of parallel sides is 7:5,and the distance b/w them is 18cm,find the lengths of the parallel sides.

540 -- 1/2 x ( 7x plus 5x ) x 18 540 -- 1/2 x ( 12x ) x 18 540 x 2/ 18 -- 12x 60 -- 12x 60/12 -- x x -- 5 hence, the lengths of the parallel sides -- (7x) -- 7x5 --- 35 , (5x) --- 5x5 -- 25
