Cʀʀ Qsɪɴ :-

  • The area of a trapezium is 600 m2 ; the distance between two parallel sides is 20 m and one of the parallel side is 25 m . Find the other parallel side .

Gɪɴ :-

  • The area of a trapezium is 600 m².

  • The distance between two parallel sides is 20 m. (altitude)

  • Length of one parallel side = 25 m.

T Fɪɴ :-

  • The length of the other parallel side.

Sʟɪɴ :-

  • Let the length of other parallel side be x m.

Formula to find the area of trapezium:-

{\boxed{{\bf{ \frac{1}{2}  \times (sum \: of  \: parallel \: sides) \times altitude }}}}

  • Therefore,

{\bf\purple{ → 600 =  \frac{1}{2}   \times (25 + x) \times 20}}

{\bf\purple{→ 600 =   (25 + x) \times 10}}

{\bf\purple{→ 600 \div 10 = (25 + x)}}

Transporting 10 to LHS :-

{\bf\pink{ → 60 = 25 + x}}

{\bf\pink{ → 60  - 25  =  x}}

{\boxed{{\bf{∴ x = 35 }}}}

  • So, the length of the another parallel side is 35 m.
