The area of a trapezium is 84 sq. m and the distance between its parallel sides is 6 m. If the length of one of the parallel sides is 5 m, then the length of the other is:

area \: of \: trapezium \:  =  \:  \frac{1}{2}  \times (5+ x) \times 6

84 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times( 5 + x) \times 6 \\  =  > 5 + x = \frac{ 84 \times 2}{6} \\  =  > 5 + x = 28 \\  =  > x = 28 - 5 \\  =  > x = 23
