Answer :-

36 cm

Solution:-

Given-

Area of trapezium = 850 cm²

One of the parallel side is 64 cm.

Height = 17 cm

To find-

Length of other parallel side

__________________________

Solution-

Let the other parallel side be x

So,

We have formula to find area of trapezium :-

\large{\star{\bf{\boxed{\boxed{Area \: = \: {\frac{1}{2}}(Sum \: of \: parallel \: side){\times}Height}}}}}

___________________[Put values]

» \large{\bf{850\: = \: {\frac{1}{2}}(64 \: + \: x){\times}17}}

» 850*2 = (64 + x)*17

» 1700 = (64 + x)*17

» 64 + x = 1700/17

» 64 + x = 100

» x = 100 - 64

» x = 36

\huge{\bf{\bigstar{\boxed{x \: = \: 36 cm}}}}

Answer:

The length of the other parallel side is 36 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Area of the trapezium = 850 cm²

Length of one of the parallel sides (a) = 64 cm

Perpendicular distance between two parallel sides (h) = 17 cm

Let the length of other parallel side be b cm

We know that

Area of the trapezium = 1/2 * h * (a + b)

⇒ 850 = 1/2 * 17 * (64 + b)

⇒ 850 = 17/2 * (64 + b)

⇒ 850 * 2/17 = 64 + b

⇒ 1700/17 = 64 + b

⇒ 100 = 64 + b

⇒ 100 - 64 = b

⇒ 36 = b

⇒ b = 36

Therefore the length of the other parallel side is 36 cm.
