Answer :

  • Sum of Parallel sides = 22 cm.

Explanation :

Diagram :

\setlength{\unitlength}{1.5cm}\begin{picture}(0,0)\thicklines\qbezier(0,0)(0,0)(1,2.2)\qbezier(0,0)(0,0)(4,0)\qbezier(3,2.2)(4,0)(4,0)\qbezier(1.5,2.2)(0,2.2)(3,2.2)\put(0.8,2.4){$\bf A $}\put(3,2.4){$\bf D $}\put(-0.3,-0.3){$\bf B$}\put(4,-0.3){$\bf C$}\put(4.4,0){\vector(0,0){2.2}}\put( 4.4, 0){\vector(0,-1){0.1}}\put(4.6,1){$\bf 8\ cm$}\put(1, 1){$\bf Area = 88\ cm^2$}\end{picture}

Given :

  • Area of Trapezium = 88 sq.cm.
  • Height of Trapezium = 8 cm.

To Find :

  • Sum of its parallel sides.

Solution :

We know that,

Formula for Area of Trapezium,

Area = ½ × (sum of || sides) × h.

⇒ 1/2 × (sum of || sides) × 8 = 88 sq.cm.

⇒ 4(sum of || sides) = 88 sq.cm.

⇒ sum of || sides = 88 ÷ 4.

sum of || sides = 22 cm.

Therefore, Sum of || sides = 22 cm.

Given:-

✦Area of the trapezium = 88 sq.cm

✦Height of the trapezium = 8 cm

To Find:-

✦Sum of the parallel side of the trapezium.

Solution:-

✦We have given that The area of the trapezium 88 sq.cm and height of the trapezium 8 cm.

✦To find the sum of parallel side of a trapezium using formula,

 \star{ \underline{ \boxed{ \sf{Area =   \tt\frac{1}{2}  \times  \sf \: Sum \: of \: paralell \: side \times Height}}}} \star

✦Let parallel side be x

  \\ \longmapsto \tt \: 88 =  \frac{1}{2}   \times  x \times 8

  \\ \longmapsto \tt \: 88 =  \frac{1}{2}   \times  8 \times x

  \\ \longmapsto \tt \: 88 =4 \times x

  \\ \longmapsto \tt \:  \frac{88}{4} = x

  \\ \longmapsto \tt \:x = 22 \: cm

✦Option d is correct.

✦Hence, Sum of parallel side is 22 cm
