Step-by-step explanation:

Let the sides be 5x and 3x

Given

h=16 cm

A=960 cm2

Now, Area is given as

960=1/2×16×(5x+3x)

960=8×8x

64x=960

x=15

5x=5×15=75

3x=3×15=45

Therefore, the parallel sides are 45 cm and 75 cm.

Let length of parallel side= x and 3x       (∵ they are in ratio 1:3)

Area of tapezium =  1/2×h(a+b)=880cm      (where h=10cm given)

= 1/2 ×10(x+3x)=880

= 5(x + 3x)=880

20x=880

x=44

Hence the length of the parallel sides = 44 m and 132m (Answer)
