The area of a trapezium is 96 cm2 and its height is 8 cm. If o e of the parallel sides is longer than the other by 6 cm, then what is the length of the longer parallel side?

Answer:

Let one side be X cm

and other side is (x+6)

Area of trapezium = 1/2× x + (x+6)×8

96=4×(2x+6)

96=8x+2x

8x= 96-24

x= 72/8

x=9

Hence longer side= x+6

= 9+6

= 15cm
