Given :

  • The area of a trapezium shaped field is 495m² the distance between two parallel sides is 15 m and one if the parallel side is 25m.

To Find :

  • Length of other Parallel Side

Solution :

As we know that area of Trapezium is 1/2 (Sum of Parrallel sides) × Height, so we will get the parallels sides be A and B, where A is 25m and we have to find the other Parrallel Side (B) and area of trapezium is 495m² By Putting the values in the formula we can easily find the Other Parrallel side of trapezium.

  • Let one Parrallel side (A) = 25m

  • Other Parrallel side be B

Area of Trapezium = 1/2 (A + B) × H

⟶ 495 = 1/2 (25 + B) × 15

⟶ 495 × 2/15 = 25 + B

⟶ 66 = 25 + B

⟶ 25 + B = 66

⟶ B = 66 - 25

⟶ B = 41m

Verification :

Area of Trapezium = 1/2 (A + B) × H

⟶ 495 = 1/2 ( 41 + 25) × 15

⟶ 495 = 1/2 × 66 × 15

⟶ 495 = 33 × 15

⟶ 495 = 495

Given :

  • Area of Trapezium = 495m²
  • Height of Trapezium = 15m
  • First Parallel Side of Trapezium = 25m

 \\

To Find :

  • The Second Parallel Side of Trapezium

 \\

Solution :

✰ As we know that, Area of Trapezium is given by ½ × height × (sum of parallel sides) or in others words ½ × height × (S1 + S2) . Now in this question, Area of Trapezium , Height of Trapezium along with one parallel side is given and we have to find the other parallel side. So simply we will put the given values in the formula to find the Second Parallel Side of the Trapezium.

⟶⠀Area = ½ × height × (S1 + S2)

⟶⠀495 = ½ × 15 × (25 + S2)

⟶⠀495 × 2 = 15 × (25 + S2)

⟶⠀990 = 15 × (25 + S2)

⟶⠀990/15 = 25 + S2

⟶⠀66 = 25 + S2

⟶⠀66 - 25 = S2

⟶⠀41m = S2

So, Second Parallel Side of the Trapezium is 41m
