Question :- The area of a triangle ABC whose base is of 12 inches and a height of 3 inches is :

A)18 inches2

B) 30 inches2

C) 36 inches2

D) 40 inches2

Solution :-

Triangle :--- is a plane figure with three straight sides and three angles.

→ Area of ∆ = 1/2 * Base * Height = 1/2* ab* sinC = 1/2 * bc *sinA = 1/2 * ca* sinB = √( s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c) ) [ where s = (a+b+c)/2 ]

given that,

  • Base = 12 inches .
  • Height = 3 inches .

then,

→ Area of ∆ABC = (1/2) * Base * Height

→ Area of ∆ABC = (1/2) * 12 * 3

→ Area of ∆ABC = 6 * 3

→ Area of ∆ABC = 18 inches² . (A) (Ans.)
