We know that the area of a triangle = 1/2 x base x height
So let the height or altitude be x,
1/2 * 36x = 180
= 18x = 180
= x = 10cm
Thus, the altitude of the triangle is 10cm.

Hope that helps !!

area = 1/2*base* altitude'
180=1/2*36*h
h=10
