Question:-

the area of a triangle is 240 metre square .if its base is 48m, find the length of the corresponding altitude

Answer:-

  • The height of triangle is 10 m

To find:-

  • Height of triangle

Solution:-

  • Area of triangle = 240 m²
  • Base of triangle = 48 m

As we know,

 \large{ \boxed{ \mathfrak{ \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h = area}}}

Where,

  • b = base of triangle
  • h = height of triangle

According to question,

 \large{ \rm :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \frac{1}{2}  \times 48 \times h = 240} \\

 \large{ \rm :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 48 \times h = 240 \times 2}

 \large{ \rm :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: h =  \frac{240 \times 2}{48}}  \\

 \large{ \rm :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: h = 10}

Hence,

The height of triangle is 10 m
