area of triangular garden=1/2 × base ×altitude

9520= 1/2×340×altitude

9520=170×altitude

altitude=9520/170

Given:

  • The area of a triangular garden → 9520m².
  • Base of the garden → 340m.

To find:

  • Find the altitude of the garden.

Solution:

Before we go further,

Note : Height, altitude, elevation means vertical distance either between the top and bottom of something or between a base and something above it.

Now, we consider the altitude ( height ) of the triangle be " h " metre.

Simply using the formula for area of triangle.

{Area = \dfrac{1}{2} \times base \times height}

\large{\boxed{\bold{Area \:=\:9520}}}

\large{\boxed{\bold{Base \:=\:340}}}

★ Substituting the values in the formula, we get

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {Area = \dfrac{1}{2} \times 340 \times height}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {9520 = 170 \times h}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {170h = 9520}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {h = \dfrac{9520}{170}}

\bf:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {h = 56}

Thus,

The height of the triangular garden → 56m.
