Let the base and perpendicular = x
1/2 * x * x = 288
x² / 2 = 288
x² = 144
x = 12 cm
Therefore, the 2 sides are 12 cm each
Using Pythagoras Theorem,
x² + x² = hypotenuse²
144 + 144 = hypotenuse²
288 = hypotenuse²
hypotenuse = +-√288 cm
but, length can't be negative.
So, hypotenuse = √288 = 12√2 cm
