we know that ,

* height of two sides of isosceles triangle is equal ,Then side of the isosceles triangle is 8and8 cm

* base of isosceles triangle is 4cm

* area of isosceles triangle. = 1/2×b×h

= 1/2×4×8

= 4×4

= 16

draw a straight line from vertex to opposite side

by using Pythagoras theorem

8²=2²+x²

64=4+x²

x²=64-4

x²=60

x=√60

x=2√15

area of triangle is 1/2 bh

1/2(4)(2√15)

=4√15
