Hello,
we have that:
area of cross section of pipe: As=3.5 cm²;
speed of water flowing out of the pipe: s=40 cm/s
we calculate the volume of water flowing out of pipe in 1 sec:
V=As×40=3.5×40=140 cm³
we calculate the volume of water flowing out of pipe in 1 minute:
V'=60×V=60×140=8400 cm³
so
8400/1000=8.4 litre

thus, the volume of water flowing out of pipe in 1 minute is 8.4 litre
