Area of 1 square = 1m²

The area of half of the square = (1/2)m² = 0.5m²

No. of half square = 16

No. of shaded half square = 8

No. of unshaded half square = 8

Area of the unshaded region = 0.5 × 8 = 4m².

There are 8 squares

therefore no. of half squares = 16

no. of shaded half squares=8

no. of unshaded half squares = 8

8 half squares = 4 squares

there area of 4 square = 4 × 1 sq. m

= 4 sq. m

Hope it helps
