Given : The area of four walls of a room is 144m².If the length of the room is thrice its breadth and the height is 3m.

To Find : the area of the floor.

Solution:

Area of floor = length * breadth

area of 4 walls = 2 ( length + breadth ) * height

length of the room is thrice its breadth

=> length = 3 * breadth

height = 3 m

=> 144 = 2( 3*breadth + breadth ) * 3

=> 24  = 4 breadth

=> 6 = breadth

length = 3 * 6 = 18m

Area of floor  = 18 *  6  = 108 m²
