Answer :

  • Area of floor is 78.125m²

Given :

  • The area of four walls of room is 150m²
  • if the length of the room is twice its breadth
  • height is 4m

To find :

  • Area

Solution :

  • Let the length of the room be 2x
  • Let the breadth of the room be x

As we know that :

  • Area of 4 four walls = h(2l + 2b)

where , h is 4m , length is 2x , breadth is x and area of four walls is 150m²

↝ Area of 4 four walls = h(2l + 2b)

↝ Area of 4 walls = h(2 × 2x + 2 × x)

↝ 150 = 4(4x + 2x)

↝ 150 = 4 × 6x

↝ 150 = 24x

↝ x = 150/24

↝ x = 6.25m

Hence , x is 6.25m

Now we have to find the Area of floor

As we know that :

  • Area of floor = l × b

↝ Area of Floor = length × breadth

↝ Area of floor = 2x × x

↝ Area of floor = 2 × 6.25 × 6.25

↝ Areq of floor = 78.125 m²

Hence , Area of floor is 78.125 m²
