Area of four walls= 2× h(l+b)
As length is thrice of breadth
960 m^2= 2×8m(3x+x)
960m^2/16m= 4x
60m=4x
60m/4= x
15m = x(breadth)
Length= 15m×3= 45m
Area of floor= l×b
= 45m× 15m= 675m^2
Hope it helps

lateral surface area = 960m ^2

let the breadth of the room be x
length= 3x
height = 8m

lateral surface area =2h(l+b)

960 = 2×8(3x+x)
960 = 16×4x
 \frac{960}{16}  = 4x
60 = 4x
x =  \frac{60}{4}

x=15m

length = 3x = 3×15 =45m
breadth= x = 15m

area of floor = length×breadth
=45m×15m

 = 675 {m}^{2}
