As we know,

Surface are of cube = 6×(side)^2

=) 6 × ( side ) ^2 = 24

=) Side^2 = 24/ 6

=) Side^2 = 4

=) Side = 2m

Now,

Volume of cube = (side )^3

=) 2^3

=) 8m^3

It can hold 8m^3 of water
